This course is for students from 6 to 10 years of age and teaches general music skills, largely through traditional folk songs. To the student, it will seem like a fun sing-along class with some marching around thrown in here and there, along with learning the Solfege system of hand signals (Do-Re-Mi). They’ll learn steady beat, high and low (pitches), and the fundamentals of singing in tune. The class will also get a little performance experience as they join in our larger choral performances each semester.
A Code of Conduct agreement is required for this course. This helps to ensure the positive environment in each class. This document is being updated and will be published this summer.
