NOW RECRUITING TENORS AND BASSES!
We’re having a blast, growing by invitation only at a natural pace, but we just can’t seem to keep up in the tenor and bass sections. So we thought we’d put out some feelers to speed up the recruitment on the men’s side of the chorus. (We have a great crew of men already, but just can’t keep up with the women’s sections!) Please read the description below, and then contact us if you’re interested.
Sing, Montana! Freedom Choir is an advanced community chorus of sings from 120 to 13 years of age. We sing a wide variety of music, mostly in 4 parts. Membership is by invitation only, and we have a participation fee of $40 per semester. We usually perform at least twice per semester. (Summers off)
Rehearsals are Mondays from 6:00pm to 8:30pm in the Great Room. The Fall Semester runs from Monday, September 13 to Monday December 13, with our final show most likely coming sometime in that week.
We hope that all our members are nice people, easy to get a long with, and have good singing voices. Reading music is a plus, but it’s not required. In fact, for almost every song we sing, we provide rehearsal aids, including audio tracks of each part, of the whole sing mixed together, and also part-predominant tracks, where your part is louder than the others.
We do ask that you maintain excellent attendance at rehearsals and performances, however, as frequent absences hurt the ensemble. We also expect you to learn your parts diligently, and to get help if you need it to keep up. Most find our pace a comfortable and manageable one, but it does hurt us all when someone’s not managing to keep up.
If you think you might be interested, you can attend a concert in person to see if we’re singing your song, so to speak. Or you could also attend a rehearsal to see if you think you might enjoy being with us.
